Goals & Action Planning

Goals.

We have placed a tracking sheet in resources you can use as a reference or guide. Certainly, having some kind of method to track project goals is essential. How you choose to document your project goals will depend on the nature of the goals and team project.

What goes into goal setting?
Everything. The more information you have to establish realistic goals the more efficient and effective everyone will be in completing the team goals.

Who should be involved in setting team goals?
Stakeholders, team members, team leader, and anyone who can contribute to the knowledge needed to set the goals.

When should the goals be established?
Early in the project. Just like vision helps to guide and focus the team around a shared commitment and philosophy, goals are the tasks and measurables or deliverables the team needs to provide at the end of the project. Consider the goals part of the product or service the team will deliver. The earlier the team establishes these goals the better.
