The casework for this week is defined as:

Establishing a communications matrix for effective communications with your virtual team. Establish leadership core values, boundaries, expectations and strategies of leadership.

Due Date: Your team project is due on April 4th. Please make sure you e-mail your final assignment to us on or before this date. Every assignment builds on the training and provides a foundation for future modules, so it is important for the assignment to be completed and turned in on time.

Team Organization: In last weeks assignment your team developed the core strategies for your group's organization. This organization will be the foundation for your team's operations for this case study.

Instructions:

1. Switch roles -You will need to assign a Leader, Manager, Communicator & Facilitator. All team members are responsible for sharing in the responsibilities on this project. Please document who was responsible for which roles and the responsibilities completed:

2. Your team is responsible for developing the core leadership strategies for your organization. The team is responsible for identifying the core values of leadership, establishing boundaries for how leaders will work with teams and identify key characteristics of the effective leader as a model. These statements will need to be submitted in a document to the instructors by the due date.

3. In addition the team needs to establish a communications matrix. This is a leadership tool (aid) that will be used as a management tool for the leader's in training. In the matrix you will need to organize how the leader needs to establish team repoire, the types of communication tools to use to communicate with the team members and how to document team communications. Two key areas of documentation include timeliness, effective and efficiency in communications and the measurable outcomes. In other words how will the management be able to measure the effectiveness of the leader's skills.

The team has the ability to create the matrix in a format that is useful - much like a management tool or job aid. There are no set criteria on how the team formats the information, as long as it is useable as a job aid for leaders in training.

This communication matrix is also due on the due date of April 4th. If you are unsure of the format, please check with us in advance.

4. The communicator is responsible to E-mail the final documents to us and all team members on or before the due date.
